Artist Bio
Yuan-Huang Xie, a professional artist living in Philadelphia,
United States, is also a well known oil painter and professor
in China. He is one of the few in the country who enjoys the
Special Lifetime Stipend issued by the Central Chinese Government
for his outstanding achievements in art and higher education.
Upon completing his graduate studies in Xi'An Academy of
Fine Arts in 1981, his oil painting "The Jubilant Corban
Festival" became a permanent collection of the National
Art Museum of China in Beijing. In early and mid-1980s, He
taught in Xi'An Academy of Fine Arts and Hubei Academy of
Fine Arts successively. In 1988, he was selected by the Chinese
Ministry of Culture among a few other artists as the first
group of visiting scholars ever sent by the Chinese government
to Paris to study and work in the International Art City after
China opened up to the outside world. He was thrilled by this
opportunity to explore the rich art treasures in Europe.
During his stay in Paris,he participated actively in art
expos and art fairs and gave academic speeches at artistic
seminars. His artworks were juried into the Parisian Exhibition
of Artists from Forty Five Nations and Toulouse International
Art Fair in France. He also held solo shows in Paris and Lyon
and made successful art sales through local galleries.
After returning to China, he began to work as a professor
and vice director of the Art College in Hainan University,
who had sponsored his European trip. Back in China, he preoccupied
himself with art creation and activities. He participated
in the juried National Art Exhibitions and National Oil Painting
Exhibitions almost every time. In the year 2000, he immigrated
to the United States to seek for new inspiration and nutrition
for his art.
Throughout his career, Xie has been challenging himself
constantly and is forever searching for ways to perfect his
artistic skills. His artworks received warm applause from
Chinese, European and American collectors and they can be
found in public and private collections in different parts
of the world. |
